Cameron and Cranfield : 3 linked purposes for collaboration
From Cameron M and Cranfield S . eds. (1998) Unlocking the potential: effective partnership for improving health. London: London NHS Executive, North Thames.
Cameron and Cranfield identify three linked purposes for collaboration:
1. Action
2. Process and building relationships
3. Continuous learning from partnership to take back to core organisations, to increase the capacity of partnership members as well as to deliver outputs
Wilson and Charlton also consider that capacity building is important to embed partnership working: they refer to this as 'taking root', 'leverage', not simply bolt-on. (Wilson and Charlton Rowntree 1997)
